Young Jin Kim is one of the most well-known designers working with hanbok (traditional Korean dress) today. Through her fashion brand Tchai Kim she produces both custom-made traditional hanbok, including dansokkot (underwear), chima (skirts) and jeogori (jackets), and modern reinterpretations of traditional hanbok designs in her ready-to-wear collections. Kim has an intuitive and hybrid approach to design mixing global styles with local folk culture.
