Meet Maya Scarlette, a self-taught fashion designer and maker born with ectrodactyly, a disability affecting her fingers and toes. Maya's custom designs prioritise accessibility, comfort, and confidence. Go behind-the-scenes and watch Maya construct a glittering wire bra costume, padded with car foam and embellished with rhinestones, to wear at London's Notting Hill Carnival – one of Europe's biggest street festivals – celebrating Caribbean culture, music, and costume design.
