Members' Week is an annual celebration highlighting the importance of V&A Membership and its contribution to the Museum. From 19 – 28 May 2017, Members can enjoy a programme of exclusive events, offers, discounts and activities.
Members' Tote bag
Members can collect their exclusively designed Members' Week tote bag from the Membership Desk in the Grand Entrance, while stocks last. This year's design is by contemporary embroidery artist James Merry, best known for his incredible costume creations for Icelandic singer Björk. Merry works only by hand and in a variety of mediums, merging traditional craft with new technologies.

Black Velvet Cake in the Members' Room
Daily, 15.00 – 17.30
Be the first to enjoy a taste of the Café's new Black Velvet cake, available to Members only throughout Members' Week. The cake is inspired by a cocktail called 'The Black Velvet' which was first created in 1861 by a bartender at the Brook's club (one of the oldest gentleman's clubs in London), as a tribute to Prince Albert in the year of his death. The stout (usually Guinness) used for the sponge was intended to represent the black or purple armbands worn by the mourners.
After a busy day exploring the Museum or taking part in one of our special Members' Week events, relax and enjoy a slice of Black Velvet cake and a hot drink for only £5.50, or cake and prosecco for only £10.
Friday night cocktails
Friday 19 & 26 May, 18.00 – 21.00
Members are invited to enjoy an exclusive pop-up cocktail bar in the Members' Room. Take advantage of the Museum's free late night opening and continue our celebration of Membership into the evening. A range of exhibition-themed cocktails and nibbles will be available to purchase from the bar as well as wine, beer, tea and coffee.

Throughout the week Members will get 20% off their basket total in all branches of the V&A Shop and online
Members will also enjoy 20% discount in the Members' Room and Café

- One bag per Member on presentation of a valid Membership Card; bags will not be posted to Members. Shrinkage and colour-run may occur if washed, we take no responsibility for loss or damage caused by washing.
- Online shop discount does not include p&p. Members wishing to use the discount online must enter their unique Membership number (stated on their Membership Card) to generate a 20% discount code which they will then need to enter upon payment. Outside Members' Week Members can enjoy a 10% discount in the V&A Shop and online.
