It’s fitting that on its 20th anniversary, the new V&A website, vam.ac.uk, has won best website at the International Design Communication Awards 2016. The IDCA awards assess and reward the best communications, design and branding strategies within the arts and museum sphere.
Announced at Communicating the Museum conference in Quebec, the award is a wonderful recognition of the hard work of the V&A digital media team and product innovation consultancy Made by Many in designing and building the new site, together, in four months.
Here’s a short video that shows some of what makes our website an award-winning website:
There’s still a lot of work to do. You might have noticed our fabulous new online shop which, as well as an improved user experience, now carries the same look and feel as the main website. And before Christmas we’ll also be launching What’s On, allowing our visitors to discover all the events, activities and courses the Museum offers, and a much improved booking process.
