National Art Library
March 18, 2024

The shortlists for each of the five categories in our 2024 V&A Illustration Awards have now been announced. Our 2024 panel of expert judges has reviewed a record just over 2000 entries in this year’s awards, the published categories spanning artwork from the period 2022 – 2023.

Take a look at the 41 shortlisted entries that made it through two rounds of judging to reach this stage. The second round saw these entries scoring highest when judged for ‘Originality’, ‘Technical Quality’ and ‘Capturing the Brief’ by the panel.

View our online gallery for more images from the shortlisted entries and details of each brief. Sign up to Awards updates to hear when our final winners are announced later in the year.

Many imaginative entries, an interesting blog

Thanks for sharing this – what an exciting mix of styles and emotions conveyed! I’m really keen to see the physical display in due course.

The bespoke website you linked is great too, especially the enlarged viewing options. It would be even better with past years’ entries added…
