Make Space: March 2026
Relaxed monthly evening sessions of creativity, making and conversations for young people in east London.
Take part in activity from sculpture to costume, zine-making to textiles. Celebrate the rich creativity and cultures of east London and enjoy access to the incredible V&A collections at V&A East Storehouse.
In this session you will create your own Folk Sculptures inspired by folk traditions such as the Pearly Kings and Queens of East London, and the sweetheart pin cushions in the V&A East Storehouse collection. Think of making trinkets on a large scale. Exploring the aesthetics of folk and craft traditions but in the form of experimental sculptures using fabrics, buttons, foam and other materials to shape your own ideas.
All materials will be provided.
No previous experience needed.
These two hour sessions are for anyone aged 16-24 years, living, working or studying in east London.
Please double-check that you are available for an event before booking tickets. If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date where possible.
