Past Event

Join Pilates instructor Gillian Greenwood for an hour long introductory session suitable for all levels of experience in the wonderful Daylit Gallery. Following the session, you will be able to enjoy a specially created tour of the V&A collections to get your weekend off to the best possible start.

The tour this month will focus on The Devonshire Hunting tapestries, some of the most expensive wall hangings in 15th century England. The scenes vividly depict different hunts in stunning detail amongst forests and waterways teeming with wildlife. Curiously, the tapestries also feature elegant men and women dressed in sumptuous fabrics of the highest fashion participating in the hunt. Who were they? Nikke Ariff will describe how this skillful art of weaving threads into a spectacular visual banquet, depicted the hunt as an important source of fresh food for the community.

Finally, you can enjoy a choice of freshly brewed hot drink before exploring the rest of the museum's world-renowned collections.

Please bring along your own yoga mat.
