In Practice : Illustrating Dresses with Erin Petson
Sharpen your pencils, loosen your line, and discover the art of fashion illustration as Erin Petson guides you through capturing texture, movement, and the timeless elegance of dresses from the V&A collection.
Join artist Erin Petson online for a creative illustration workshop inspired by the V&A’s world-renowned dress collection. Working directly from garments in the V&A online collection, you’ll explore expressive drawing techniques to capture the movement, texture, and character of historic and contemporary fashion. This session offers a unique opportunity to connect observation with creativity and bring the elegance of the collection to life on paper using watercolour, coloured pencils and collage.
This session will be held live on Microsoft Teams and will also be recorded. The recording will be emailed to ticket holders after the live event, and will be accessible for 5 days until midnight on Sunday 15 February 2026. Please note: Materials are not included, a list of readily available materials will be sent to you in advance of the session
