Are your cherished photographs tucked away in dusty boxes under the bed, fading in albums, or slipping from frames on the wall? This workshop invites you to reclaim those memories and learn how to care for them with intention and skill.
Join independent community archivist and artist educator Cassia Clarke for a practical, hands-on session designed to help you handle, store, and preserve your personal photographs and ephemera. Guided by principles of compassionate conservation, this workshop blends technical know-how with emotional reflection, offering a thoughtful approach to personal archiving.
Through a mix of group and individual activities, you will:
- Learn how to safely handle and store delicate materials
- Explore the emotional and cultural significance of personal archives
- Reflect on preservation as a form of storytelling and care
You’ll also create components for your own Personalised Starter Kit, filled with simple, accessible tools to continue your preservation journey at home. All materials are provided—just bring three to five photographs that hold meaning for you.
This session is open to all levels and is ideal for anyone interested in developing mindful, practical approaches to caring for personal photographs.
