Join us for an exclusive opportunity to explore the creative process of Jazz Grant, the recipient of the Hackney Council's 2025 Windrush Amplified Art Grant. As part of her residency at the V&A East Storehouse, Jazz has delved into the museum's vast collection to develop a new artwork that reflects her unique artistic vision.
Jazz Grant is a British artist renowned for her mixed media collages and stop-motion animations. Her work examines the construction of memory, identity, and the interplay between historical and contemporary narratives. With a background in menswear design from the London College of Fashion, she employs a meticulous process of sourcing, photographing, and hand-cutting materials to create her pieces. Her collaborations include murals for Jay-Z's Book of HOV exhibition and cover art for Dazed magazine, as well as partnerships with brands like Burberry, Gucci, and adidas.
During this event, Jazz will share insights into her artistic journey, the inspiration behind her latest work, and the impact of the V&A East Storehouse on her creative practice.
The finished artwork will be unveiled at the V&A East Storehouse on October 4th, 2025, as part of Hackney's Black History Season.
