This two-day event at the V&A celebrates the 100th anniversary of artist, scientist and author Herbert W. Franke. Organised by the V&A in collaboration with Foundation Herbert W. Franke, the summit brings together leading artists, curators, researchers and technologists to explore the evolving relationship between art, science and technology.

Through keynote lectures, presentations, conversations and showcases, participants will examine digital practice from the earliest experiments in computer art to contemporary work with AI-driven systems. The programme fosters dialogue across generations, connecting foundational figures in the field with artists shaping its future.

Marking Franke's centenary, the summit reflects on his enduring influence as both an early practitioner of digital art and a champion of interdisciplinary exchange. Across two days of conversation and debate, the summit will consider how creative technologies continue to redefine artistic practice, cultural production and our understanding of human and machine creativity.

The full programme and speakers will be announced shortly. The summit will run from on 18 March from 14.00 to 17.00 and on 19 March from 10.00 to 17.00.
