Featuring speakers from both China and the UK, the forum will present case studies and host roundtable discussions that explore how local heritage can drive innovation, and how craft intersects with design, industry, and sustainability. Through this lens, the forum aims to spark dialogue around emerging forms of cross-cultural collaboration, highlighting how craft towns operate as living frameworks that preserve and renew tradition through creative reinterpretation.

This forum is convened by Chuan LU, Dr Loucia MANOPOULOU, and Dr Xiaoxin LI, Curator of Asia department, V&A. Organised by China Academy of Art, Curated by GyreCraft with media collaboration with Life Magazine China and ROSA Magazine. The event also includes object presentations from the Research Institute of the Better China Initiative, China Academy of Art, Life Magazine China, Crafts Study Centre (UCA), ROSA Magazine and Rebecca Skeels.
