The Liberty Scarf
Discover the story behind one of fashion’s most enduring luxury accessories, from Liberty’s historic printworks to its celebrated archive of iconic designs.
The Liberty scarf has evolved from a marker of social class into a timeless symbol of effortless sophistication, celebrated for its finely woven silk, exquisite craftsmanship and distinctive prints. Join author and vintage scarf collector Paul Rennie alongside Liberty Design Director Mary-Ann Dunkley and Liberty Lead Scarf Designer Alexandra Lovatt for a journey through the history and enduring appeal of the Liberty scarf.
Drawing on Liberty’s extraordinary 150-year archive, they will explore the evolution of scarf design, from early block-printed silks and nature-inspired heritage motifs to bold abstracts and contemporary interpretations. They will discuss the craftsmanship behind each scarf, the treasures unearthed by Liberty’s designers and archivists, and how the scarf continues to move between fashion, function and self-expression.
