Delve into the ornate interiors and spectacular exteriors of the famous Lahore Fort. Founded by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the sixteenth century, the Lahore Fort was radically altered by his successors throughout the seventeenth century with later additions made by Sikh and British occupants. The carved sandstone and marble of the Fort’s structures, and the wall paintings and shimmering mirror mosaic of their interiors, all tell the fascinating story of the evolution of Pakistan’s most important Mughal architectural site.

We're delighted that this years' annual Benjamin Zucker Lecture on Mughal Art will be delivered by Dr Nadhra Shahbaz Khan. Doors open at 18.30 and the lecture is followed by a reception. Admission free but booking is essential. Please use the Exhibition Road Entrance. This event is supported by the American Friends of the V&A through the generosity of Benjamin Zucker.
