Emefa will talk about her practice and ongoing apprenticeship in the Ashanti region of Ghana with the master goldsmith of the Asantehene (King of the Ashanti) - focusing on how thoughts and words of wisdom are captured in gold, silver, and brass. There will be a mini display of brass proverbs and works created with the ancient lost wax casting technique.

Emefa Cole is a jewellery and silversmithing graduate from London Metropolitan University, who explores the transformative power of time to create bold, distinctive body adornment for the true individual, using SMO gold (Single Mine Origin) and recycled silver of known provenance in all her pieces. Emefa’s work can be found within the V&A as well as within The Goldsmith Company.
