Led by
NYX Music Director Sian O’Gorman and Embodiment Director Imogen Knight, this workshop explores the relationship between voice, body and presence. Through a series of simple and playful exercises, participants will be guided to explore sound and movement as they emerge in the moment, shaped by attention, sensation and relation to others.
Working from the provocation of
First Breath, the session considers beginnings in multiple forms: the intake before sound, the impulse before action, the subtle shift that signals something coming into being. Participants will be invited to notice and follow these impulses, allowing voice and movement to unfold with openness and curiosity.
The workshop creates a space for exploring how we listen to ourselves and to one another, and how expression can emerge through that process. Everything is approached as an invitation, with participants encouraged to engage at their own pace and in ways that feel comfortable to them.
As part of the
First Breath programme, the session contributes to a wider exploration of embodied and polyvocal practice within the museum.
Filming and photography will take place at this event.
