2019 is a significant year for the history of comedy and the UK. It marks the 40th anniversary of the birth of the alternative comedy scene and 50 years since Monty Python’s first broadcast and the premiere of Carry On Camping. It is also the year the UK will leave the EU . Join Senior Curator Simon Sladen as he introduces a new display in the British Galleries exploring comedy’s impact on society.

Find the display Laughing Matters: State of the Nation in British Galleries, Clore Study Area, Room 55.
