Edmund de Waal with Dame Laura Lee - A Mug for Maggie's photo
Celebrated artist and writer Edmund de Waal CBE is known for work investigating themes of memory and materiality, with works on display around the world, including the V&A.

Join him in conversation with Dame Laura Lee DBE, for a discussion of his most recent project, Mug for Maggie’s, a special edition bone china mug marking 30 years of the cancer charity’s transformational support.

As de Waal says, “This is a deeply personal coming together of things – poetry and pottery – to celebrate Maggie’s, a place where profound conversations and support happen day by day, around the kitchen table over a mug of tea.”

The pair will discuss the origins and process behind the design of this special collaboration, inspired by the kitchen table which is found at the heart of every Maggie’s centre – a place where people with cancer, as well as their family and friends, gather to share experiences over a cup of tea.

Edmund de Waal Mug for Maggie’s launched in collaboration with Duchess China and V&A and made possible with support from the Miel de Botton Charitable Trust
