From Mumbai to South Kensington: A Shared History in Clay (Part of Global Design Forum) photo
In 1862, the Central and Economic Museum of 1855 in Mumbai was renamed the Victoria and Albert Museum of Bombay. In 1899, the South Kensington Museum of 1857 was renamed as the Victoria and Albert in London. Both museums chart the history of designers and manufacturers in art and design, locally and internationally. The panel will approach these shared histories and future plans through the ceramic collections of both museums and the artists that have been associated with them.
