Julius Bryant, Keeper of Word and Image at the V&A, has researched a new history of the museum’s collections that reveals the personal contribution of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In conjunction with a book of the same name, the talk will explore how the young royal couple played key roles as public supporters and as large-scale lenders, before the museum grew its own collections. The lecture will also introduce the bicentennial temporary displays on Victoria and Albert.
