While Venice is better known for soft light and atmospheric painters, Toto Beragamo Rossi, Head of the Venetian Heritage Foundation in conversation with Dr Bruce Boucher, Director of the Sir John Soane Museum, will discuss the magnificence of six centuries of Venetian sculpture and its place in the city's artistic tradition - and what is being done to conserve these for the future.

Based on new scholarship, they will examine how the sculptural marvels of Venice by great masters such as Donatello tell the story of the procession of doges - the elected lords of Venice - all illustrated by beautiful images taken from Beragamo Rossi's new book.

This talk will be held on Zoom, and all ticketholders will receive a link to view the morning of the event.
