Join artist Clare Hedges in a practical making class, as we create traditional Passementerie, inspired by the V&A collection. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience.

Clare lives and works in rural Norfolk. and has been making traditional Passementerie for over 25 years. Clare established a successful business in both making and teaching this endangered craft. Previous projects include: restoration work for the National Trust, private stately homes, owners of vintage cars, horse drawn carriages and theatres.

Clare will demonstrate how to make simple fold over tassels, look at the structure of cords and make 2 colour 2-ply cords as well as covering “parchment” to make a variety of shapes. These can be used to make flowers, bows and additions to large tassels.
