Originally inspired by Derek Jarman’s film Blue, Unearthly is a dance-based installation which reveals the manifold properties of the colour blue. Thick & Tight view blue through a queer lens; exploring the colour’s rarity within nature; the impossibility to capture or recreate it; its universality and omnipresence but also its ‘unnatural’ qualities; its historical importance in art and its current geopolitical implications. Once you’ve seen Unearthly , expect to view the colour blue within Raphael’s cartoons, the V&A and beyond, in a new hue.
Performances will be at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00.
