Online Workshop: Illustrating Animal Characters (13-17 years)

Guided by artist and illustrator Millie Nice, create your own illustrations in response to one of Beatrix Potter’s classic stories. Following in Potter's footsteps, we’ll be taking a close look at nature and how to transform our drawings of animals into compelling characters. Then, using your newly created characters you'll learn fundamentals of storytelling through drawing, bringing life and action into your illustrations. Finally, you'll have the chance to combine traditional materials and digital self-publishing techniques to produce your own version of a Beatrix Potter classic.

This event is for young people aged 13-17 only. Please have a parent or guardian complete and return the Parental Consent Form (click on 'Download programme' in the side bar) to digitalprogrammes@vam.ac.uk.
