Join us for our annual summer celebration for a programme of free, family-friendly performances and creative activities as we celebrate 3 years since Young V&A opened. Watch stunning performances and take part in hands on activities across our galleries, while creating and connecting with others.

PROGRAMME

Pop Up Performances:
National Centre for Circus Arts perform at 11:30 and 13:30 on the Town Square
Hackney Community Orchestra perform a joyful musical set in The Community Room at 12:00
Young Ensembles from Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service (THAMES) perform in The Community Room at 14:00
Akademi South Asian Dance perform a brand new piece inspired by the Bollywood film Devdas at 12:30 on the Town Square
Do Things Different Dance bring a dance performance celebrating friendship at 14:30 on the Town Square

Workshops:
Make a bracelet for you and a friend in Open Studio
Join drop-in Family Circus workshops outside on The North Lawn
Join a Rhythm Makers session with the Play Champions in The Community Room
Play and create together with Imagination Playground outside on The North Lawn

Films:
See animations made by young film-makers including Young V&A Collective and local school children between 11:0015:00 in The Stage

  • This is a family event. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshops and performances. 
  • Ear defenders are always available on request at our reception.  
  • The activities will be mainly floor based, and we have a range of seating available. 
  • We know that visiting a museum as a family requires lots of planning. If you would like further information or would like to tell us about your child's needs in advance of the session, please contact us by email: yvalearningevent@vam.ac.uk 
  • On the day, our friendly team will be available to help with your access needs. Please feel free to approach us to make your visit more comfortable
