Ceramics Demonstration: An introduction to the making of Shararah photo

Join us for an afternoon with ceramicist Ashraf Hanna as he gives us an insight into his new work 'Shararah', currently showing as part of our display 'Contemporary Ceramic Art from the Middle East'. Hear how an exploration of techniques and designs from the V&A collection transformed into a tribute to the youth who sparked the 2011 Egyptian Revolution as part of the Arab Spring. During the demonstration, Ashraf will showcase the processes he uses when making a piece, from developing the form in clay, to drawing and carving his final design. This is a wonderful opportunity to watch a master craftsman at work.
Part of London Craft Week
