Led by two current V&A resident artists, Bridget Harvey and Sam Bakewell, this tour will look at the interplay between creativity and a diverse array of intersecting factors such as repair, autobiographical influences, and mental health. Maker in Residence Bridget Harvey is using her residency to examine the relationship between repair and the museum. She will explain various ceramic repair processes and their motivations, focussing on objects collected and borrowed by the museum which display this craft. In contrast, Ceramic Artist in Residence Sam Bakewell is using the V&A's collections to question the links between mental health and creativity. Sam will be talking through the objects he curated as part of the residency display case, and giving context to the makers’ lives behind them.
You also have the chance to visit Bakewell and Harvey's V&A artist studios directly following the tour and on 11 May.
