Make Space: December photo
Enjoy a relaxed evening of creativity, making and conversations.  Take part in activity from sculpture to costume, zine-making to textiles. Celebrate  the rich creativity and cultures of east London and enjoy access to the incredible V&A collections at V&A East Storehouse.

Join artist Gal Leshem for a hands-on, imaginative workshop exploring the boundaries of the human form through wearable sculpture and costume design. Drawing inspiration from the dramatic proportions of the mantua mannequin featured in the V&A's Bags: Inside Out exhibition, as well as the bold creations of contemporary artists and designers working in wearable art.  Through playful experimentation with materials, structure, and silhouette, you'll design and construct your own sculptural forms to expand or restrict movement, or even reinvent the shape of the wearer. Whether you're interested in fashion, performance, or sculpture, this workshop invites you to explore movement, space and form in new and unexpected ways.

All materials will be provided.

No previous experience needed.

These two hour sessions are for anyone aged 16-24 years, living, working or studying in east London.

Please double-check that you are available for an event before booking tickets. If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date where possible.

Please book here in advance.  There will be limited drop-in spaces available on the day, capacity dependent.
