Janet Gough asked the deans of all the 50 cathedrals of the Church of England and Church in Wales to each recommend and write about one treasure, which she has compiled in a handsome new book, Deans’ Choice: Cathedral Treasures of England and Wales
In her beautifully illustrated talk, Janet will share many of these treasures, from Magna Carta to an Anglo-Saxon portable sundial and pilgrim’s leather boots of around 1500, testament to the work of craftsmen and women from 672 to 2020 and supporting worship and the work of cathedrals. Janet will also address the role of cathedrals as museums, indeed a storybook of our nations.
This talk will be streamed on Zoom and all ticket holders will receive a link to view the morning of the event. It will also be recorded if you are not able to watch live.
