Inspired by the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, this hands-on workshop will see your V&A highlights or personal connection transformed into a wearable design. Participants explore influences ranging from the surreal fashion of Elsa Schiaparelli to the boundary-pushing creativity of David Bowie, alongside unexpected highlights from the family of V&A Museums.
Collage forms the foundation of the process, combining sourced imagery with personal photos from your smartphone camera roll to create layered, expressive compositions. Designs can be further enhanced with paint, pens, and pencils before being digitally uploaded and printed onto a garment to take home.
To support sustainability, we ask participants to bring an existing item to the workshop to refresh and personalise—such as clothing, a tote bag or fabric (cotton, denim, or nylon recommended for best print quality). A selection of second-hand garments and calico fabric will also be available for use if needed.
With step-by-step support throughout, you’ll transform your V&A inspired creativity into a striking finished design.
