Jodie Harsh - You Had to Be There photo
As DJ, producer, partystarter, queer icon and now author, Jodie Harsh has worn many hats (and wigs) over the course of her two-decade career in clubs, always at the forefront of culture. From the beginning, Harsh has united glittering pop with gritty underground – including remixes with Kylie Minogue, for whom she opened shows across Europe in 2025.

Join her in conversation with V&A Curator Harriet Reed as part of the V&A’s 2026 Performance Festival for a discussion of her recent memoir, You Had to Be There – chronicling a well-spent youth in London’s noughties clubland – as she puts it, ‘a messy, brilliant, freeing time’.
