Make it: Trinket Trays
Get curious and creative with Make its! This workshop offers families a chance to explore what it means to be a designer.
Join Make its for a fun, hands-on family workshop inspired by the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition.
Experimenting with style, colour and texture from the Rococo period, you will be able to hand-build your own trinket box or tray using Porcelain clay. You can then personalise and decorate your trinkets or trays using coloured clay and slips.
Families will leave with new skills and ideas on hand building with clay and experimenting with colour and texture using sponges, stencils, painting and piping.
No previous experience is necessary, come along and join in. All materials will be provided.
Pieces made in the workshop will be fired and glazed, available to collect from the museum at a later date.
Materials will be allocated to the children within your group. Adults will be working together with their children.
The workshop will take place on 10th and 24th January. We will have 2 sessions per day, 11:00 and 14:00. Each workshop is 120 minutes long.
Tickets are £25 minimum for one adult and child pair. You can add extra adult or child tickets to this booking. Please book one £10 ticket for each child and one £10 ticket for each adult attending. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.
Please note that adults will be able to attend only if they've booked a child ticket too.
This is a family event for adults to take part in with their children; no child can be left unattended.
Please double-check that you are available for an event before booking tickets, we only offer refunds in exceptional circumstances. If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date. If it’s not possible to reschedule your booking, we will offer a full refund.
