With powerful interviews and gorgeous photographs, groundbreaking new book Crafted Kinship shares the stories of more than 60 artists and designers of Caribbean heritage – exploring how their countries of origin influence and inform how and what they create.

Curated by Malene Barnett, an award-winning multidisciplinary artist and textile surface designer of Jamaican and Vincentian descent, Crafted Kinship includes makers working across all mediums, including ceramics, sculpture, photography, performance and more.

Join her alongside featured artist Charmaine Watkiss, whose practice investigates the botanical legacy of the Caribbean, in conversation with Christine Checinska, V&A Senior Curator, Africa and Diaspora - Textiles and Fashion – for a discussion of this thoughtful book and the critical and often complicated themes of identity, memory, and history expressed by the makers and their works.
