Art as resistance: creativity photo
In the face of an anti-DEI backlash, renewed austerity, and rising cultural conservatism around the globe, this session explores how creative expressions can offer inclusion, diversity, social impact and collaborative social repair.

This session will encourage participants to respond to story prompt cards as a tool for stimulating critical thinking and generating novel ideas, offering an opportunity to explore individual perspectives on art as resistance.

Whether challenging personal assumptions or collectively evaluating the state of east London’s creativity, this session invites audiences into a dynamic dialogue between ideology, explorative provocations and shared experiences.

This event is for anyone living, working or studying in east London, aged 18+, emerging or established within the creative sector.

As part of the Ideas Exchange series of interactive talks, this event will be documented through film, photography and live artist interpretation.
