We’ve always needed bags! Our ‘hunter-gatherer’ instincts required imaginative receptacles that over time, have prioritised beauty over function. With V&A Guide Nikke Ariff, you will be exploring depictions of bags in paintings to sculpture; all functional but subtly conveying the status of the owner through materials or embellishment.
