Wearable Art: Schiaparelli Meets Herrera

Join fashion designer and educator Monisola Omotoso for Wearable Art: Schiaparelli Meets Herrera Workshop, a creative draping workshop based on the ideas and techniques explored in Monisola’s book Pattern Cutting Deconstructed: Wearable Art. 

Using pre-cut geometric shapes in structured tarlatan fabric, participants can choose to recreate a sculptural bodice inspired by Carmen Herrera’s Equation or develop their own Schiaparelli-inspired design, complete with handmade fabric roses. Exploring how art can inform fashion, this hands-on session offers an accessible introduction to transforming simple 2D forms into innovative 3D silhouettes on the dress stand, with each participant leaving with a unique wearable artwork and photographs of their finished piece.
