Enjoy a relaxed evening of creativity, making and conversations. Take part in activity from sculpture to costume, zine-making to textile. Celebrate the rich creativity and cultures of east London and enjoy access to the incredible V&A collections at V&A East Storehouse.
Artist Gal Leshem invites you to a session of experimental and playful mask-making. From disguise to celebration, transformation to protection, masks have long held powerful roles across cultures and contexts. In this creative, hands-on workshop, you'll explore both the practical and symbolic functions of masks—how they shape identity, performance, and expression. Alongside making, you'll delve into the work of contemporary artists who use masks to challenge norms, tell stories, and reimagine identity.
All materials will be provided.
No previous experience needed.
These two hour sessions are for anyone aged 16-24 years, living, working or studying in east London.
