Join us for a two hour workshop to build your own birdhouse with Christie Swallow. In this session you’ll learn how to create sustainable architectures for birds and leave with a unique, ready to use bird box. There will be a choice of materials, appearance and designs to work from, and each attendee will leave with their own unique design ready to install for the next nesting season.

Starting with an introduction to bird architecture and the problems that birds are facing in the uk, you will explore how humans can help our fine feathered friends by putting up spaces for them to nest within. You’ll learn about the conditions that birds need for a home, and how we can design to accommodate them.

Using reclaimed wood, upcycled textile and metal wire/pins, each attendee will produce their own unique bird house design (approx 20x20x30cm). Choose your colour, size, material and decorate the exterior to attract birds to their new home!

Each attendee will also receive a booklet certifying that they are an “avian architect” as well as outlining how to best install and maintain their design.

Come ready to learn, experiment, and leave with a uniquely designed home for a family of birds!
