Family Design Challenge is an opportunity for the whole family with children 3-14 years old to get hands-on and creative with a variety of materials. Run every second Saturday and during the school holidays in Open Studio in the Design Gallery.
Please see below for dates and themes. Sessions are timed drop-in and last approximately 30mins, please note last entry is approx. 3.20pm.

Paper Beading workshop inspired by London College of Fashion's takeover in The Shed. Discover their 'Making Egypt' Inspired project a jewellery making technique used by ancient Egyptians to string amulets, precious stones and faience beads. Learn how to roll your own beads from paper and string them together. Meet the tutors of London College of Fashion: Fashion Jewellery course who are doing a takeover in The Shed.

Design a football kit that tells your story and represents your family and community. Inspired by Lukman Ipese's kitted for culture graduating project at the Royal College of Art which celebrates grassroots football played on Hackney Marshes. If you are 11-14 we will also run 'Makers Club' alongside where you can work with Lukman and make a print of your design on the RISO.
