Material Experiments

In this display and performance, Canadian artist Omer Arbel transforms the long-forgotten narratives of Saint Clare’s rebellious courage and subversive power into vessels of consciousness. His iridescent, fragile sculptures, which will be created during a series of live glassblowing performances in the museum’s John Madejski Garden and carried into the Santa Chiara Chapel in a dignified, exalted procession, evoke the delicate beauty of archaeological artefacts that have been transposed into our contemporary age.
