Join Furniture Designer Charlie Boyden in Open Studio and The Shed to explore the different ways he creates playthings and furniture. The workshop will be zoned into various different and inclusive activities, you will have the opportunity to participate in several activities that give an example of Charlie's design process.
- Create a unique 'Design Collage' from rubbings of our material library.
- Design from 2D to 3D with 'Net Furniture'
- Design and construct paper rolled 'Play-Chairs'
- 'Play from Waste' explore a treasure trove of offcuts and scrap material to design your own toys. (7-14 year olds)
This is a drop-in activity with timed entry and is most suitable for families with children aged 5-14. Please note that 'Play from Waste' activity is for 7-14 year olds, and there will be limited spaces available, all wooden objects will need to be left in The Shed at the end.
Charlie Boyden is a local designer that has taken over The Shed for six weeks. He creates lights, objects and furniture and has set up a wood working workshop and studio in The Shed. Charlie's work explore the function of everyday things that he re-imagines with waste materials.
