Meet Dalia James, hand weaver in The Shed
Meet Dalia James this summer in The Shed at Young V&A from mid July-August. During Dalia's Takeover she will be working on a special project dying yarns with natural dyes. During 'Meet the Designer' events you can meet her in person, ask questions and see weaving demonstrations in 'The Shed'.
If you would like to learn to weave with Dalia she will be running a Make-Lab masterclass for families (7-14) on the 2 August 25.
Dalia James is a London based artist and designer. She graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Woven Textiles (BA Hons). As a handweaver, the connection between her and the cloth she creates is essential to her practice. Dalia’s work focuses on colour and geometry and explores the relationship between the two. Her artistic philosophy has been shaped by the writings of William Morris and Josef Albers and her work often references early 20th Century design and artistic movements.
