A film exploring the creative influences of graphic designers of the African and Caribbean diaspora
Who shapes the canons of art and design history, and who gets left out? These established reference points often become the foundation for future generations of artists and designers. 'Reference Point' by Michael Akuagwu explores this question through the voices of African and Caribbean designers across the diaspora. The film highlights the ripple effects of overlooked histories and influences, challenging us to reconsider whose stories are told and remembered.
