Across Years and Sounds: The Fashion Styling of Black British Music 1990 – 2020
Join us for an afternoon exploring the artistry of several fashion stylists and the visual and sartorial identities they established within music genres celebrated in V&A East museum’s inaugural exhibition, The Music is Black: A British Story.
Jungle, drum & bass, Trip Hop, UK Garage, Grime (and several of their respective subgenres) all emerged between the 1990s and 2020s. A selection of noted British fashion stylists will provide insight to their working practices and how their expertise constituted the styles of our times.
