Refugee Week: Threads of Joy and Community photo
Refugee Week celebrates the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. Join us for a day of workshops and performances to celebrate joy, storytelling and small acts of kindness.  

The programme includes:  

Flock 
Drop in, 11.00-16.00 
An opportunity to contribute a clay bird towards a communal flock of birds created by refugee groups from Salusbury World charity, using clay to celebrate diversity and community and highlight themes of identity, displacement and migration.  Led by artist Jacqui Ramrayka. 
Design Studio, Learning Centre 

 
“you're a man now, boy”  
13:00-13:20 and 15:00-15:20 
you’re a man now, boy is a dance performance weaving hip hop, contemporary, and magical realism into an empathetic experience. Through voice and dynamic movement, it explores the joy, the hardship, and the community found through the healing of mental health difficulties and trauma.

Play for Progress

Join young people from Play for Progress for an informal pop-up performance and music workshop. Get ready to join in!  
Play for Progress is a Croydon-based charity that tap into the healing power of music, the arts, play, and creative therapies to build healthy and resilient relationships that support and amplify the voices of unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

Drop-in Design: Wishing Well

Join us today for a wishing well activity! Gather and create a collection of wishes. Decorate the wishing well and create your own coin design as an offering to the well. Will you share your wish with your family, keep it a secret or say it out loud to help your wish come true? It’s up to you!
