Artists over the centuries have enjoyed deceiving the viewer’s eye with their illusionist devices. The V&A collection has many and diverse pieces demonstrating this “trompe l’oeil” to great effect. Courage and craftsmanship by the practitioner test the eye of the beholder. Expect this tour led by V&A Guide Elizabeth Hamilton to be a journey of surprise and discovery.
