Past Event
V&A East Robin Hood Young Producers invite you to a powerful showcase of film and discussion at Tate Modern, exploring the layered history of Robin Hood Gardens, a social housing estate in Poplar home to many communities, that was demolished between 2017 and 2025.

This event continues V&A East’s recent collaborations with young East Londoners to explore themes of social housing and community action, and responds to Tate Modern’s exhibition The Genesis Exhibition: Do Ho Suh: Walk the House.’

Do Ho Suh made a film visualising Robin Hood Garden’s bold brutalist architecture and this evening young East Londoners share their stories of the people who lived there. Through oral histories, poetry, performance and film, their work offers a personal look at life in the area—set against a backdrop of an ongoing housing crisis and distorted media perceptions.

This event is taking place at Tate Modern, more information and ticketing is available here.
