Renowned designer Michael Smith, whose projects include the Obama White House, and Janice Lyle, author of ‘Sunnylands: America’s Midcentury Masterpiece’, offer an inside look at how public figures design their private homes to express personal tastes and values. A signature example is Sunnylands, the famed California desert estate of Walter Annenberg, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s.

At Sunnylands, the Annenbergs welcomed British royalty and prime ministers along with U.S. presidents and other celebrities inside the home that blends midcentury modern design with the grandeur of a traditional country estate.
