Maurice Broomfield: Industrial Sublime
Acclaimed filmmaker Nick Broomfield is known for his honest and intimate biographical documentaries, covering the remarkable lives of subjects from Whitney Houston to Leonard Cohen. Join him for a screening of his film, 'My Father and Me’, which takes a look at the life of his father, photographer Maurice Broomfield, and has been described as ‘an intimate story of one family that takes an expansive, philosophical look at the twentieth century itself”. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, and is in celebration of Industrial Sublime, the new display of Maurice Broomfield’s works, opening at the V&A 6 November.
The V&A has put numerous health and safety measures in place to ensure the museum is a safe, relaxing and inspiring place for our patrons and visitors. We have taken steps to ensure that all V&A sites are reasonably COVID-19 secure with cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance. Hand sanitiser will be available, and face coverings are recommended. Some may choose not to wear face coverings, so please take this into account when deciding to book. A level of social distancing will be maintained, including limiting capacity in the Lecture Theatre for this event.
