Inspired by our exhibition ‘Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk’, this workshop will include an introduction to the process of yukata kimono making, as well as a demonstration of traditional stencil carving. Then it is over to you, as the designers guide you through the process of creating your own unique stencil, depicting a family crest. Using your completed stencil, you will explore dyeing techniques on both Japanese paper and fabrics.
All materials provided, suitable for beginners, 18+
